Thomas's Time in El Salvador

 June 27, 2011 Hola Familia Sounds like you all had a pretty full week. We did too and especially today. If you look on a map of El Salvador you'll see what we did. One of the Elders in our zone had emergency changes which i didn't even know about until 7 o'clock this morning. I'm just sitting there all chill eating my oatmeal when all of a sudden i get this phone call from another zone leader asking me where he wants to meet up to do the missionary exchange Today at 10 o'clock. So i immediately call up Elder Perez ( the elder that had the transfer) so he can get packing. Then i spent about an hour trying to find someone that could take Elder Diaz and I to Candelaria take Elder Perez and his luggage from Candelaria (40 min away in bus) to another called Auachapan another hour away in bus in the other direction and then take the new missionary Elder Lainez back to Candelaria with his luggage.  June 20,2011 Happy Father's day dad!!!! I didnt forget about it i just didnt have time to write about it last monday. But i hope that you had a great fathers day dad. It sound like yoiu guys had a really good time out camping that must've been a really cool thing to do for fathers day. No but really dad i want to thank you for everything that you do. The example that you set for us is sucha great boost and helps me every day. Here in El Salvador i get to go to alot of homes and visit with lots of different families and especially when we teach about the law of chastity its really sad. The law of chastity is such a huge problem here and its very rare that you can see a functional happy family here outside of members of the church. Almost nobody here gets married. Its really tought ive learned so many things that i am going to apply in my future family. But one of the greatest things that ive come to appreciate is the importance of the father in the family.  June 13,2011 Hey everybody so here is the official new address for the mission office. Its inside of the ward building for my old ward in Paraiso, so its super close to where we live: Mision El Salvador Santa Ana/Belice Edificio de la Iglesia de Jesucristo SUD Carretera a Candelaria de la Frontera y Autopista a San Salvador, Frente a Col. We are officially in the Santa Ana Beliz mission now so we wont be going back to San Salvador for a while now. geographically the mission has gotten sooooo small, but it's one of the most productive missions in the world. Last month we baptized more than any other mission in Central America I I'm so excited to be here in this mission at this time. This week we taught 47 lessons I soo close to our goal of SOI I've only gotten to 48 when I was in Lourdes. Right now in our zone though we only have 4 baptisms and 10 people with baptismal dates.  June 6, 2011 Hey family! Well Ethan how does it feel you are finally out of High School? Now it's off to BYU I bet you are super excited try to apply for as many scholarships that you can, it helps out a lot in the long run. That's something that I wish I would've done more of that. Grandma was writing in her email and she said that neither you nor Emily had been to convert baptisms. It's such a cool experience. I remember the first one that I went to was the one of a member of the Spanish branch, that they needed more members to come and support the members, I remember that there was such a cool spirit there part of it was for the fact that I could understand a little bit of what was being said, but it was mostly for the fact that that he had truly received a testimony and received a conversion.
