Thomas's Time in El Salvador

 11/29/2010 Hey Everybody I'm so glad to ear that your guys all had a thanksgiving. We did absolutely nothing it was just like any other day, which means running around with our heads cut offl No but we've been working like super hard this week. We have dun dun dun dun ...... 6 baptismal dates for the month of Decemberl we are pushing it as hard as we possibly can. Our zone last month only had four baptisms. And so its been really stressful these past few weeks. Our mission has a goal of 2000 baptisms this year ans apparently this month of November didn't go over very well so we have to run like crazy to get us back to where we need to be for December. The thing that really helps we out though is the fact that if we do the very best that i possibly can heavenly father will provide a way so that we can complete our goals the faith is so important here in the mission.  Mon 11/22/2010 Hola Familia Its still summer down here its not too hot. But its just like I'm stuck in 90 degree weather all day every day. What i wouldn't give for just a foot of snow that fell right now instantlyl The people here would go nuts about it though. Here in the night if you are lucky its gets down to about 65, perfect. And then you'll get people that are out here in the street they've got like ski jackets and all sorts of other crazy clothes on because they feel so stinking cold. It's pretty funny Elder Hardy and i got a kick out of it when he was here. Speaking of companions you wanted to know what Elder Perez is like. He is form Guatemala and he is about 5' 11" i think he is the second shortest missionary here in El Salvador there is another Elder, Elder Torres, he is like 4'10" or something like that.  Mon 11/15/2010 Que hondas? Como esta familia? Hey it was really great to hear from you guys this week. Not much new is happening here in the mission we keep working with our investigators. Bellatrice has hit a snag she broke the Law of chastity again. So she's not getting baptized this month. We found out we a teaching a witch so that was pretty interesting. We are going to have to drop her which really stinks she even had a baptismal date and everything. But we keep working Finding and Teaching but it would be better if we were just teaching i love teaching the gospel every missionary does so that's why right now you guys are so important. You are the finders! Help out those missionaries, I don't care if they are chambones (slackers) or not, get them teaching! Make them run to appointments!  Mon 11/8/2010 Hey Family Hey sorry i didn't get to take any pictures of the soccer game ... only because I was tearing it up the whole time! No I'm only kidding its because we didn't have very many substitutes and my companion got really tired so he went out and took some pictures and he took a little bit of a video also where you see me playing but he only got one picture off so ill see if i cant send you guys that picture with this email. But as for this week it was awesome. First of all we won the soccer game 5 to 4!  I didn't score any goals but i got 2 assists and i got to wear my cleats! Then this week we found 25 new investigators! We worked so hard but it was so worth it. Then yesterday Louis got baptized and it was such a great experience. Half of the ward was there at the baptism; the primary sang a song for him. He loved the whole thing.  Mon 11/1/2010 Hello! Elder Hardy is doing just fine he has such a great spirit and is always willing to give it his all every day, he has a little hard time when he gets frustrated really easily but he is such a great missionary and its always great working with him. How is Bellatrice? She wants to get baptized she told us. And so does Carlos her son. Just the only problem is she just won't leave her son with the dad she wants to leave Melvin and take carlos with her as well because apparently he is abusive to the son as well. Right now there is not a whole lot that we can do, we threw a birthday party for Carlos who turned 8 last week and we made him real chocolate chip cookies. Loved it! But other than that we are going to keep teaching her and keep praying and we'll se what happens. Last night we had a really cool experience we went over to the Bishop's house again and he told us that he has two new baptisms for us this next Sunday! Apparently there are two women in our...
