Thomas's Time in El Salvador

 June 28, 2010 Good Morning everybody! How's everything going back up there? I'm glad to here that the Youth Conference went over so well and that you guys had a good time. Not much crazy stuff is happening here just lots and lots of rain. We've kept getting tropical storm after tropical storm over and over again its not anything to worry about it just stinks because there is just lots and lots of rain. We had to pass by a family that we were teaching Familia Hernandez. So Elder Wardlow and i we just thought that if the people could see the effort that we are putting in to help these people come unto Christ that maybe they would really understand the importance of the Gospel. So this last storm hit on Saturday at about 4 in the afternoon. But we were in Cara Sucia when the storm hit so we had to take a bus back to Acajutla that took forever.  June 21, 2010 The world cup is in full swing here!!! And everybody is watching all of the games and everybody is talking about so i keep up to date with all of the games. I was kind of bummed that i was going to be on the mission during the world cup but now its fine because i still know what's going an with all of the standings and stuff. So i saw the pictures from the youth conference sounds like you guys had a real hoot! Ha-ha. The picture of the tree of life was pretty cool. Those kinds of opportunities where you can get together like that and just have a good time and learn about the gospel at the same time are always the best experiences. Here in the mission we always try to make every day fun. And while preaching the gospel it really makes for a once and a life time experience. I really am grateful for the opportunity that i have to be here and serve the people. It was a little frustrating for me when i got here en el campo outside of the city.  June 14, 2010 Hey everybody. I figured out what you guys can send me for my birthday! Don't worry about the shoes that were a dumb idea. Missionary music! If you guys could find some cool songs from movie soundtracks that are really cool and then burn them to a disc and send them that would be great. Some of the ones that i was thinking about were Cast Away, Kingdom of Heaven, and stuff like that cool instrumental music. Oh and also I lost that colored pencil thing that can hold like eight colors and that was really cool. I think i left it on the bus last week on the way to Cara Sucia. I was trying to get some studying done for the hour and a half bus ride, it must've fallen down in between the seat. So if you could find another one of those and it for my birthday that is really all i need. But hey I'm glad to hear that you are all super excited to get out of school i know how that must feel.  June 7, 2010 Yeah so hey sorry to worry you guys about me. It was pretty tough but i got over it the Friday before i wrote you guys so yeah don't worry. I think it was because i got soaked the day before i got sick so that is probably why i got dengue (name of the sickness i had). No but yeah everything is super chill here. There was a pretty big tropical storm that hit Guatemala North of us but here in Acajutla we just got a lot of rain and that's about it. And then the Volcano the erupted in Guatemala was really far away from us and they had a wind blowing all of the ash toward Honduras so we didn't even see ash or anything like that. The Lord truly was protecting us because in southern Guatemala they really got hit hard. But I'm glad that you guys didn't die in the cabin (Audrey) no I'm just joking but I'm glad that it was a good time for you guys to relax and have a good time I took Elder Wardlow to the beach this week and we took some sweet pictures so...
