Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Happy Father's day dad!!!! I didnt forget about it i just didnt
have time to write about it last monday. But i hope that you
had a great fathers day dad. It sound like yoiu guys had a really
good time out camping that must've been a really cool thing to
do for fathers day. No but really dad i want to thank you for
everything that you do. The example that you set for us is sucha
great boost and helps me every day. Here in El Salvador i get to
go to alot of homes and visit with lots of different families and
especially when we teach about the law of chastity its really
sad. The law of chastity is such a huge problem here and its
very rare that you can see a functional happy family here
outside of members of the church. Almost nobody here gets
married. Its really tought ive learned so many things that i am
going to apply in my future family.
But one of the greatest things that ive come to appreciate is the
importance of the father in the family. We are teaching the
mom of two recent converts that we baptized two months ago.
Her name is Roxana. She is married now but before she was
just with another guy, they were together for a long time they
had 4 kids together but about 6 years ago the guy ditched here
and ran away with her sister, and now she lives with two of the
daughters that are both single mothers and all live in the same
house, and on top of that one is expecting another son very
soon. None of them have work right now and are all living in
the house of the ex "husband" who now wants to sell the house
and kick them out so now they only have 3 months to find
another place to live. And its really tough to sit there and watch
them pass through all of these trials. They are doing good now
the mom is going to get baptized this saturday so thats going to
be awesome, but i just think how different it could've been for
them and so much easier if they would've kept the law of
chastity in the first place and that there was a father in the
family while this family was growing up. And if the daughters
would've just waited for marraige they could have their own
happy homes right now with their husbands guiding and
directing the family.
A home where gospel priociples are taught, and the preisthood
is used to guide and direct the famiy through the husband and
father is so much different than what the world offers. The
mission has taught me really what are the consequences of our
actions and the amazing blessings that this gospel offers to
those who follow Christ's example. Thank you Dad for all that
you do for us i cant imagine where I would be in my life without
your example. You guys all set such a great example for me and
really help me know why im hear and help me stay motivated
by the fact that the families that we are teaching can one day
be like our family. I love you all and have a great week!
