Happy fourth of July!
Here the independence day mom is on the 15th of September. This morning i called all of the Elders in
our zone on the cell phone and i did a conference call and sang the star spangled banner for all of them.
Elder Diaz thought that it was pretty funny and then we went out and playesd soccer with the zone and
with the stake president and some other people that are in the stake. We lost though that kind of stunk.
But i got a really good workout though. This week i have been entirely dedicated to getting myself into
shape during the morning. In our house there are two stories soi get up and run sets of stairs for 10
minutes every day. That's helped out a lot.
Elder Cordon is a really good mission president he is here to work super hard, and is helping us out a lot
i havent got any pictures of him with me yet but ill se if i cant get one. This week we also got to go
through the temple during the open house on the very first day. It is soo beautiful inside. We took some
of our investigators there and they loved it and they could truely feel of the spirit that is inside I took
some pictures from outside too. The only bad thing is though that we can only go through the open
house one time. But the next time i will go through the temple in San Salvador will be when it is
already dedicated.
We are starting out July super strong here in our zone. We've already got six baptisms and six people
with baptismal date. One of those is in our area and then we are going to put baptismal dates with a
family of four that we have been teaching. The person that has the baptismal date in our area is Gloria.
She is a lady that we have been teaching she's in her early 60' s. And she love the church and everything
she has ben coming to church for the past month, and she wants to get baptized and everything, but she
is not married to her "husband." They've been together for about fourty years now so yesterday we went
over and i told Elder Diaz that i wasnt going top leave her house without putting a baptismal date with
Gloria. So we sat down with the two of them and I just said something like: Look Gloria wants to get
baptized but she cant because you guys arent married you've allreaady been together for 40 years, one
peice of paper isnt going to change anything. We{II even buy a cake to celebrate." And they said yes. At
first he was making up excuses about this and that. But we were just super direct with him and he said
yes. I felt like Nephi going to go and get the brass plates. I knew that we were going to put the date but i
had no idea how we were going to do it, but we were guided by the spirit. And we felt that we just had
to be super direct. And we did it.
